Each Second Saturday, a new artist transforms our blue feature wall, offering a fresh, intimate look into their work and creative process. Come meet the artist, explore the space, and experience art up close!

Sheila E. & The E-Train

A fearless multi-instrumentalist, Sheila E. is a recipient of a Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. She has performed with Prince, George Duke, Herbie Hancock, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Ringo Starr, Gloria Estefan, Beyonce, and Jennifer Lopez.

Restored Native Prairie Hike

Take a hike around the restored prairie and see what Forestville looked like before it was incorporated. Learn about the importance of native prairie ecosystems in historic and modern context; includes identification of in-season plant prairie species.

State parking permit is required to attend. Self-guided admission is included. Separate ticket required for Guided House Tour.

Live Music: Johnsmith & Dan Sebranek

The Winona Arts Center at 228 E 5th Street is happy to host two of our favorite local musicians, Johnsmith & Dan Sebranek on Saturday, April 12. The concert begins at 7:00 with coffeehouse & gallery opening at 6:00. Tickets are on sale at Music Mart (115 E 3rd St.) and on Eventbrite until 4:00 on April 12. There is a cash bar for wine & beer. Tickets are $15/advance $20/door Note: Music Mart now accepts credit cards and checks made out to Music Mart. Johnsmith, a local favorite, has been sharing his music across America and abroad for forty plus years.

Joan Osborne released the critically acclaimed Songs of Bob Dylan in 2017. There, her artistic and soulful reinterpretations of Dylan songs was an eye-opening moment in an already celebrated career. Eight years after that milestone recording, Osborne will release the stunning Dylanology Live in April 2025.

Charles McPherson

Charles McPherson was born in Joplin, Missouri in 1939 and moved to Detroit at the age of nine. He moved to New York in 1959, joined bassist Charles Mingus’s band in 1960 and stayed with the group until 1972. During his twelve years working with Mingus, McPherson collaborated frequently with Barry Harris, Lonnie Hillyer, George Coleman and others.
