Learn at LeDuc: Historic Cooking Demonstration

Ever wonder what life was like for soldiers at camp during the Civil War? Spencer Johnson, retired teacher, long time LeDuc volunteer, local historian, and the cook at Civil War Weekend will be leading this historical cooking demonstration. Prepare and enjoy several mid-19th century dishes that families and Civil War Soldiers made over the fire at home and at camp, using ingredients from LeDuc’s own gardens.

This will be a hands-on, outdoor class in the LeDuc backyard, and we will be working over a wood fire, so dress accordingly (LeDuc House will be open).
