Salt Lake WMA

Birding site. Every spring as many as 100 birders from around the state make the trip to Salt Lake for a long birding weekend. A good place in high water times for migrating grebes and ducks, in low water years it can be exceptional for shorebirds.

Salem Glen Vineyard & Winery

Salem Glen is a family-owned and operated boutique winery specializing in small batches of wine made from regionally grown grapes. Our winery was established in 2006 on an old dairy farm in the Zumbro River valley, southwest of Rochester, Minnesota. The sunny, fertile, rolling hills surrounding the farm are well suited for growing grapes that make great wine.

Sakura Restaurant

In 1970, Miyoko Omori came to the United States from Japan. After waiting tables for 7 years at Fuji Ya in Minneapolis, Miyoko decided she'd open her own restaurant. Miyoko left her job with only her last paycheck in hand, and convinced a local business owner to rent her a space for her now award-winning restaurant, Sakura, or "cherry blossom" in Japanese. Sakura Restaurant offers an excellent selection of Japanese cuisine to both the novice and connoisseur.

Sakatah Trail Resort

Nestled between Sakatah Singing Hills Bike trail and Round Lake. We offer two motel rooms and seasonal sites for camper/Rv's and mobile homes. Full hookups. Paddle boat and canoe for use by customers as long as safety rules are followed.

Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail

A 39 mile blacktop trail between Mankato and Faribault wandering near pastures and farmland along several lakes, through three small towns, and through a forested state park. The trail is perfect for biking and hiking, and, in the winter, groomed for snowmobiles.
Near the middle of the trail, cyclists are routed through city streets in Waterville, and at Elysian, there is a railroad depot wayside rest. There are swimming beaches at Waterville, Elysian, Madison Lake and Cannon Lake.

Sakatah Lake State Park

On the boundary between the prairie and the "Big Woods", this park offers a diversity of landscapes. Situated on the shore of Upper and Lower Sakatah lakes, this wooded park offers camping, biking, hiking, fishing and canoeing. Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail runs through the park, providing access to 39 mi of biking and snowmobiling trails with approx 3 mi of the trail within park boundaries. The park has 5 miles of trail for hiking.
