Murphy Hanrehan Park Reserve

Park is great for cross country skiing, mountain bikers, horse back riders, bird watchers and hikers. Trails run through hilly, wooded area, very challenging.
19.4 km trackset. 19.4 km skate-ski. Mostly expert level trails. Warming house. Maps along trail. Ski pass required. Ski passes sold at trailhead. The extensive forests make this a great park for woodland songbirds. In 2004, the park was designated as an "Important Bird Area" by the National Audubon Society. Also, a new dog off-leash area is coming soon.

Munsinger Clemens Gardens

Munsinger Gardens and Clemens Gardens has over 150,000 annuals and perennials beautifully displayed in both formal and cottage garden styles. Gardens Gift Shop open daily through the season. Riverside Park Shelter w/restrooms & parking - wading pool - disc golf - X-C Skiing 12.9 km trackset. Mostly intermediate level trails. Lighted sledding hill. Warming House.

Municipal Memorial Forest Park Campground

40-acre wooded campground, bathroom and shower facilities, playground equipment, picnic shelters and electric, tent and RV sites, some with hookups, RV dump. 1/4 mile from sandy swimming beach with lifeguard coverage. 1/2 mile from restaurants and stores. 10 miles from canoe rental on the Crow Wing River. First-come, first-served basis.

Mud-Goose Wildlife Management Area

Mud-Goose Wildlife Management Area is 17,000 acres of forest, marsh and lakes. This is an excellent area to watch and photograph migratory birds in the spring and fall, as well as resident wildlife year round. The area is open to hunting and trapping. Shore fishing is available at the Mud Lake dam. There are over six miles of trail that allow foot travel access to forested parts of the area. A boat or canoe is necessary to access Goose Lake. Mud Lake can be seen from Co Rd 139.
