Sauk River Campground

This public campground is located under trees along the Sauk River in downtown Melrose. Newly remodeled restroom facilities include showers near the sites. Park activities include fishing, outdoor games, full-sized basketball court, soccer field, and playground equipment.

Sapsucker Farms Yellow Belly Cidery

Sapsucker Farms is a certified organic farm where we grow apples and make Yellow Belly hard cider. The farm is located near Mora, Minnesota, 70 miles north of the Twin Cities. There are lots of family fun things to do. Tour the farm, stroll through the orchard, visit the cider barn to taste some cider. Farm products for sale include organic maple syrup, fresh apple juice, honey, organic garden produce, and Yellow Belly cider.

Sandy Point Park

This 24-acre park, located in rich farm country, is on the west shore of South Heron Lake. Heron lake is a very unique body of water totaling over 8,000 acres which provides on of the best waterfowl production areas in the state, as well as many recreational opportunities. The park provides an excellent area to observe shore birds, white pelicans, Canadian geese, and many other species of waterfowl. To enhance the attractiveness of the park to birds and waterfowl, over 2,000 food-producing trees and shrubs have been planted, and a wildlife pond is on the west end of the park.

Sandy Point Lodge

We are situated on a scenic point extending into the western edge of Lake Kabetogama. We offer a four season lodge and resort with lake shore cabins and lodge rooms overlooking the lake. Our restaurant offers delicious food and is open to the public and is available for meal plan arrangements. Our lake is an acclaimed walleye fishery and is part of Voyageurs National Park. With our location and the expansive Park, you will find lots to explore through out the year.

Sandy Lake Dam & Recreation Area - US Army Corps of Engineers

The Sandy Lake Recreation Area is a part of the US Army Corps of Engineers - Mississippi Headwaters Project. Sandy Lake offers recreational opportunities including camping, boating, swimming, picnicking, and playgrounds. The 60 site campground is open from May through mid-October and features a variety of campsite options. The campground is 100% reservable and reservations can be made from 6 months in advance to the same day of planned arrival by going to www.recreation.gov or calling 1-877-444-6777.
