The Ruttger family owned and operated the resort from 1898 to 2020 making it the oldest family-owned resort in Minnesota history. Ruttger’s turned a new chapter in 2020 with new owner, 1898 Investments. In 2023, 1898 sold the resort to Odyssey Resorts. Ruttger’s traditions are still an important part of what we do. Ruttger’s is a traditional, cozy, up north family lake resort where guests feel at home, relaxed and comfortable because they are treated like family; not a customer.

Serving Skillets and Omelette’s for Breakfast, Fresh Lake Superior Fish, Tender Roast Beef with Homemade Mashed Potatoes & Gravy for Lunch; as well as Burgers and of course Fresh Lake Superior Fish and Homemade Pies the business grew rapidly.
We are a Microbrewery and Taproom with Growler sales. We have a 5 barrel brewery onsite and there will be a minimum of eight beers on taps at any given time and tasting flights are highly encouraged.
