Anoka County Polar Plunge

The Polar Plunges are annual events organized by Special Olympics Minnesota; an organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities. Plunge participation helps make a significant difference in supporting these athletes. Those who fundraise for their Polar Plunge get the chance to jump into a lake. If you fundraise, you are not required to jump. The event is open to the public to cheer on and support plungers! Volunteers are welcome!

Wake The Improv, a spellbinding and laugh-out-loud interactive show, that invites audiences to step inside their own subconscious as performers transform real dreams and nightmares into fully improvised scenes.

Villain Arts' 17th Annual Minneapolis Tattoo Arts Festival

Villain Arts is excited to host a bigger & better show than ever this year! Come get tattooed by the world’s best tattoo artists, including the top local, national & international artists. There will be numerous vendors with everything from oddities to clothing, artwork & jewelry as well as a variety of live entertainment acts to take in. Two Sisters Two Artists

Two sisters living far apart, Jo Ann Elig in Rhode Island and Kathleen Davis in MInnesota, are finally sharing their art together. Jo Ann is a plein air oil painter focussing on Rhode Island landscapes, still lifes and portraiture. She also creates vividly colored gel print collages incorporating native leaves and grasses. Kathleen, a Vine Gallery member, has painted in oil and now primarily in watercolor. She also creates encaustic wax works using photos and oil paint.

Illuminating Sound is a shadow puppet and music performance blending live music and visual storytelling to explore time, creation, destruction, and humanity’s impact on the natural world. 10th Wave musicians wear masks that cast deity silhouettes. A small bird, separated from its flock by climate catastrophe, befriends a mythical fox-deer as they seek a new home amid human-made devastation. Can they survive and find a place to belong?

History Revealed - Conversation with the Curators

Join RCHS in a conversation with the curators of the Queering Indigeneity exhibit at The M. The exhibit is part of a project that artist and curator Penny Kagigebi and supporting curator Ben Gessner have worked on for several years in collaboration with The M to amplify the stories of 2-Spirit and Native queer artists. Experience the premiere of Embodied Landscapes, a short art film blending dance, sculpture, and visual storytelling.
