Light the Night Twin Cities

Help defeat the darkness of cancer on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020 by joining thousands of survivors and supporters at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Minnesota Chapter’s Light The Night.

Light The Night brings light to the darkness of cancer. It is a remembrance, a celebration, and a rallying cry to help fund critical advances in the fight against cancer. This evening celebration begins at 4:30 p.m. at Harriet Island in St. Paul with fun activities for all ages including food trucks, a glow zone and glam station, a tailgate zone, music and much more!

Lift Bridge Road Race 10 Mile/10K/5K

NEW in 2025 – a half
marathon distance! The Lift Bridge Road Race is based at Lift Bridge Brewing
Company in Stillwater – the event’s title sponsor. The half, 10-mile, 10K and
5K courses show off the best of residential Stillwater, its scenic lakes, paved
trails and historic Victorian mansions. All distances share a common finish at
the brewery’s Tower Drive location. The finish is a festive atmosphere at the
brewery to celebrate together.

Let's Hygge

Hygge is a defining characteristic of Danish culture and refers to a quality of coziness that brings about a feeling of contentment. We will be spending a cozy afternoon at Cedarholm Community Building celebrating winter and all things hygge. Activities may include: snowshoeing, kick sledding, smores, hot chocolate bar and an art make and take table.

Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo

Celebrating its 40th Anniversary season, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo was founded in 1974 by a group of ballet enthusiasts for the purpose of presenting a playful, entertaining view of traditional, classical ballet in parody form and en travesti. Les Ballets Trockadero first performed in the late-late shows in Off-Off Broadway lofts.

Haydn’s “Surprise” Symphony

Surprises abound in this program curated by SPCO Principal
Horn James Ferree! Dmitri Shostakovich’s “Elegy and Polka” — not performed as
often as his other works — are excerpted arrangements from his opera Lady
Macbeth of the Mtsensk District and ballet The Golden Age.  Embracing the spirit of surprise, the
program’s titular work is Franz Joseph Haydn’s delightful Symphony No. 94,
nicknamed the Surprise … no spoilers, please!

Brahms’ Second Sextet

The effects of war are
profound and far-reaching. Such is the case with Erwin Schulhoff and André Caplet,
whose lives changed drastically and were shortened by World Wars I and II. This
concert pays tribute to their earlier work paired alongside an early work of
Johannes Brahms — his titular Sextet No. 2 written at a time in his life marked
by the sudden loss of his mother and a broken engagement to the singer Agathe
von Siebold.

Legends of Soul Through the Ages

Legendary vocalists Bruce Henry, Debbie Duncan and Gwen Matthews team up once again to present and celebrate The Legends of Soul! This will be an unbelievable Valentine’s weekend of iconic songs from artists like Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Beyoncé, BB King, Prince, and more!
