John Mueller's Winter Dance Party: Tribute to Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper

John Mueller’s “Winter Dance Party” ® is the official live and authentic re-creation of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper's final tour and the only show endorsed by the Holly, Valens and Richardson estates. Each live concert performance includes over two hours of unbridled, high voltage entertainment featuring all the hit songs of the 50's era: That'll Be The Day, Peggy Sue, Oh, Boy, Rave on, La Bamba, Chantilly Lace, and many, many more.

John Hitchcock

Bury the Hatchet is artist John Hitchcock’s mixed media, cross-disciplinary, multisensory installation. Hitchcock combines his interests in printmaking, Rock n’ Roll, and Kiowa and Comanche history into one visual expression that offers a re-telling of the narrative of the American Frontier. Working from the theme of the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show, Bury the Hatchet explores issues of assimilation, acculturation, and indoctrination through oral history and music.

John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon

ESTABLISHED IN 1980, THE JOHN BEARGREASE SLED DOG MARATHON IS THE PREMIERE SLED DOG RACE SERIES IN NORTH AMERICA.

World-class mushers including Jamie Nelson, John and Jason Baron have competed in the nearly 300 mile event – facing off against other seasoned competitors as well as the extremes of northern Minnesota weather and the deceivingly rugged terrain of the trail. The “Beargrease” is a qualifier for the famed Iditarod race in Alaska.

Jogging

A conceptually adventurous exploration of place, identity and mythology, Jogging is gloriously unpredictable and presents a radical challenge to the stereotypes and prejudices that afflict global perceptions of Arab women. The story is told through the eyes of Hajj Ali on her daily jogging route through Beirut, Lebanon. She starts taking notes and begins to see the streets of her city with new eyes. As she jogs, she considers the city’s history of building and destruction through war and thinks about her roles as a woman, wife and mother. She examines her dreams and desires.

Joetown Rocks

Joetown Rocks Parish Festival is one of Central Minnesota's biggest and best family-friendly 4th of July celebrations. The festival is a two-day event, featuring a free concert and fireworks on July 3 and a parade, Water Ball contest, quilt auction and a raffle drawing on July 4. There are numerous choices of food, beverages, and games available in the festival stands as well as items for purchase, such as concert t-shirts, homemade candy, and handiwork and craft items. Children enjoy the merry-go-round and the train ride as well as a number of youth games and face-painting.

Two-time GRAMMY-nominated blues-rock sensation Joe Bonamassa is hailed internationally as one of the greatest guitar players of his generation, and has almost single-handledly redefined the blues-rock genre and brought it into the mainstream.

Jingle Bells Telethon

The Jingle Bells Telethon raises money for families in need over the holidays. Money raised from the five-hour live TV show goes to purchase food and toys for nearly 900 families each December, along with other ways throughout the year.
