Join the Forest History Center for a celebration of winter, with outdoor games and activities including sledding, snow snake races, tomahawk throwing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and more! Trails will also be open for skiing, snowshoeing, and fat-tire biking. Come celebrate winter!

Ultimate CEO Showdown Presented by Mower County CEO

This live experience features five unique games inspired by your favorite TV game shows, each running for about 25 minutes, filled with laughs, friendly competition, and audience energy. Audience members may be randomly selected to participate, or you can simply sit back and enjoy the fun from your seat. Whether you’re competing on stage or cheering from the crowd, this is an entertaining night you won’t want to miss! Doors open at 6:30pm and the show will start at 7:00pm. The show will be around 2 and a half hours long. This event is open to guests ages 10 and up only.

Next Generation Leahy

As with all forces of nature, the music and energy created by The Next Generation Leahy simply cannot be contained. The drive to create music is powerful within each of the Leahy children. It has given rise to multi-instrumental talents, whose dynamic live performances have been described as “astounding” and “breath-taking.” Belying their young ages, these siblings are all accomplished multi-instrumentalists whose live performances are filled with the high-energy, infectious music associated with the Leahy name.

Muyehpen, presented by Exposed Brick Theatre - Muyehpen

The story of Muyehpen has been passed down for generations by the Knyaw (Karen) people of Burma. Known to be the most beautiful Knyaw woman in her time, and possessing supernatural powers, Muyehpen was kidnapped by the king of Siam and became a sacrifice. This is her narrative of resistance and resilience, which lives on today. Written by Ehkhudah Zar, this is the first-ever theater production by a Knyaw playwright in the U.S. and shares the story of Muyehpen with a new generation.

Modern Wool Spinning Workshop

Discover the timeless craft of wool spinning in this hands-on workshop designed for beginners and curious makers alike. Participants will learn how wool is transformed into yarn. Join instructor Terri Goenner as she demonstrates spinning wool and then gives participants a chance to try the craft themselves. No prior experience is required—just a willingness to learn and enjoy a relaxing, traditional craft.

History Matters Day at the Capitol

History Matters Day is an annual event for Minnesota citizens to gather together, learn, and advocate for history. Throughout the day people will meet with their legislators and visit an information fair at the State Capitol.

Gentlemen of the Woods: Manhood, Myth, and the American Lumberjack at Sibley

Today, the folk hero image of an ax wielding lumberjack is celebrated in songs and folktales evoking a kindly, flannel-wearing naturalist. However, lumberjacks in their own time were despised as amoral transients. Join us as author Willa Hammit Brown brings to life the activities and experiences of lumberjacks as they moved from camp to camp. We’ll explore the cultural history of the life and lore of the real lumberjack and his true place in American history.

Cooking with Julia Child Class

In this hands-on class, the Cooks of Crocus Hill team will will take you through the preparation of the recipes that made Julia Child the pivotal chef of her time and continues to carry into today. Each event attendee will receive a ticket to the Julia Child: A Recipe for Life exhibition. You’ll leave inspired by her legacy and equipped to recreate her timeless dishes at home.
