Roberto Returns to Celebrate American Music

A favorite of Austin audiences, renowned pianist Roberto Plano returns to celebrate American music with the most famous of all American piano pieces: George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Plano is the winner of Cleveland International Piano Competition and a laureate at numerous international competitions and one of Austin’s most beloved guest artists. The Symphony will also perform the Overture to Candide by Leonard Bernstein and closes this amazing season with Dvorak’s iconic New World Symphony, inspired by the composer’s time in the Upper Midwest.

Chase & Ovation is the world’s premier Prince tribute show based out of Prince’s beloved hometown of Minneapolis, MN. For the past 16 years, Chase has been performing across North America, exclusively honoring the music of Prince live in concert. The band also holds a long-running monthly residency at the world-famous Bunkers Music Bar in Minneapolis, made famous by Prince himself.

The Beatles' Abbey Road - An Album Tribute

Join Collective Unconscious as they “drop the needle” on the Beatles’ Abbey Road! This is a complete performance of one of the greatest rock albums of all time. With hits like “Here Comes the Sun,” “Come Together,” “Something,” and “Octopus’s Garden,” this album is a joy to listen to and even more fun to watch. Side two, with its signature “medley” beginning with “You Never Give Me Your Money,” reaches a whole new level of entertainment when experienced live.

American Voices: The Year of the Piano

This concert continues the Year of the Piano but also begins the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. Osip Nikiforov, a rising star in the piano world, will perform music by American composers Florence Price and Margeret Bonds, along with the British composer Ethyl Smith. The winner of numerous awards, Nikiforov has been called “A musically gifted pianist with intelligence and great technique.”

Muyehpen: A Live Performance

The story of Muyehpen has been passed down for generations by the K’nyaw (Karen) people of Burma. Known to be the most beautiful K’nyaw woman in her time, and possessing supernatural powers, Muyehpen was kidnapped by the king of Siam and became a sacrifice. This is her narrative of resistance and resilience, which lives on today.
