You've Got A Friend...The Music of Carole King and James Taylor

History Theatre is thrilled to partner with the charismatic Jen Burleigh-Bentz and Bradley Beahen as they present You've Got A Friend...The Music of Carole King and James Taylor. Who could ask for anything more invigorating and nostalgic as we head into the summer? Take a walk-through memory lane and peruse the extensive catalogs of two of the most influential singer/songwriters of their time with a full acoustic/electric band.

Singlade Balls (Singlade Bollar)

Learn how to make singlade balls or singlade bollar (traditional hand-stitched balls made from wool yarn). These can be used as a child’s toy or toy for a cat. It’s a great way to use those colorful bits of yarn in your stash.

Archival evidence from museums in Sweden indicates that the craft started around the early 1800s. Singlade bollar have been found in southern Sweden, Denmark, and northern Germany. The craft is likely to have been spread throughout the region via the Baltic Sea trade route.

Marathon Viewing Party: Bacon & Bloodies

Imagine holding a Bloody Mary with a healthy strip of bacon without having to fight the crowds. This is a VIP way to celebrate Grandma’s Marathon morning.

Join us to cheer on the Grandma Marathon runners from the perfect perch of the Harbor Roof and Symphony Hall decks. Overlooking Harbor Drive –with a backdrop of Canal Park and the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge – it’s a beautiful spot for an early summer day. And given that Harbor Drive is one of the last legs of the race and runners truly appreciate your cheers. It’s almost a public service!
