Season Opening Day marks the first day of the 2024 season. This family-friendly, free event will feature many exciting activities and exhibits!
From 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.,
· View three new exhibits in the Welcome House (Välkommen Hus): Sami Clothing and Culture; Visit Leksand, Sweden; and Games, Toys, and Pastimes of the Mid- to Late-1800s.
· See the historic buildings and look for some artifacts that have not been displayed before.

Come check out the impressive mansion railroad tycoon James J. Hill built, the brand new Call of Trains photography exhibit in the art gallery, and enjoy a variety of fun activities throughout the day:
Tales from the Graves is an annual fundraiser for the Rock County Historical Society in which people from Rock County's rich history are featured telling their tale. This year's characters are Simon Skovgaard, early Norwegian settler in Rock County; Hugo Goehle, legendary coach at Hills-Beaver Creek High School; and Margaret Vegge, long-time owner/manager of Renfro Variety Store once called the last dime store in Minnesota. Pie and ice cream will be served for your free-will donation. This event lasts from 1-4 p.m. on June 4, 2023.
