Waldmann Brewery & Wurstery

Using old-world horizontal fermenting techniques and noble and heritage hops, the Waldmann brewing team is making traditional German-style lagers with an approach to recipes and brewing processes that stay true to the building’s 1850s heritage. Pull up an authentic steamboat chair and choose from one of several enduring styles, like pilsner, dunkel and kolsch. Our beer is the perfect complement to tasty bites from the wurstery kitchen, including freshly made sausages, heritage wheat pretzels, and limestone potatoes roasted under a slab of Platteville bedrock.

Wakemup Bay Campground and Day-Use Area

Located in Kabetogama State Forest, managed by Bear Head Lake State Park. The 22 campsites are considered "primitive," designed to furnish only the basic needs of the camper. The campsites consist of a cleared area, fire ring, and table. In addition, vault toilets, garbage cans, and drinking water are available. Wakemup Bay Campground and Day Use Area is a remote and rustic campground area on Lake Vermilion.
