Andina
(Andean Elegy) was her first written composition to
explore having a multicultural upbringing. Dedicated to her older brother,
their upbringing was filled with Chinese stir-fry, Andean nursery songs and
frequent visits from their Jewish cousins from New York. Pastorale d'éte
by the French composer Alfred Honegger is a short symphonic poem inspired by
his vacation to the Swiss Alps in 1920. Béla Bartók’s Romanian Folk
Dances is based on seven Romanian tunes from Transylvania. Closing
