Thielke Lake Wildlife Management Area

Thielke Lake is a well known home for nesting western grebes. Each spring the western grebes perform a mating display in which pairs rise up and run across the water. After chicks have hatched, they can be seen riding on the backs of their parents. Other birds in the area include great blue herons, black terns and ring-billed gulls.

Thief River Golf Club

Prepare yourself for eighteen challenging holes of golf and enjoy the facility’s driving range and putting green. When you finish your round head into the clubhouse and shower up in one of the two locker rooms available.

Thief River Falls Waste Water Ponds

The Wastewater Treatment Ponds are home to various ducks and geese. The city has a viewing area on the west side of the ponds. A new enclosed building was completed in 2009 for sheltered viewing.

Thief River Falls Curling Club

In Northwest Minnesota, Curling has become a growing sport and the Thief River Falls Curling Club is just the place to enjoy playing this historic game. In case you are interested in the game of curling but not interested in all the ice and cold, the Thief River Falls Curling Club has two comfortable lounges, both allowing an excellent view of the curling action on the four curling rinks available in the facility. In the warmer months, the Thief River Falls Curling Club with its 2,190 square feet of concrete surface, is ideal for accommodating many various indoor events or tournaments.

Thief River Falls Area Community Theater

The Thief River Falls Area Community Theater is an organization dedicated to providing theater art opportunities to the Thief River Falls, Minnesota, area and surrounding communities by presenting summer theater productions each year. The productions range anywhere from one-person plays to musicals. Each production is shown at the Northland Community and Technical College Theater on the Thief River Falls campus.

Thief Lake Wildlife Management Area

Thief Lake Wildlife Management Area is an excellent location for viewing wildlife. It is home to one of Minnesota's two herds of elk and a total of 232 bird species have been seen on Thief Lake, 99 of which are known to nest there. Also keep an eye out for snowshoe hare, southern red-backed vole, white-tail deer, and bear. There is a special wildlife viewing mound for watching birds on the lake and several boat launch sites. There are no interpretive trials.

Theodore Wirth Regional Park

North and South Wirth contain 23 km of groomed trail. A mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced trails. Located in Minneapolis and Golden Valley, between US Hwy 12 and Golden Valley Rd on Wirth Pkwy. Trail runs through open parkland and woods, adjacent to snowboarding and snow tubing area. Lighted trails available at night. Maps along trail. Ski pass required. Ski passes sold at trailhead.

Theodore Wirth 9 and 18-Hole Golf Course

Wirth Golf Course is one of the oldest public golf courses in the state of Minnesota. The front nine of Wirth is beautifully set around Bassett Creek with several scenic views of the Minneapolis downtown skyline. Theodore Wirth Golf Course also offers a nine hole Par 3 course which is also set among the mature trees and rolling hills of the Theodore Wirth Park area.
