Experience the lush but rarely heard string quartet of Venezuelan Romantic-Era composer Teresa Carreño, as well as a duo for cello and piano by Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos. Enjoy Spanish composer Joaquin Turina's piano trio which blends French Impressionism with Andalusian folk elements. Finally, travel with us first class to Argentina with a tango by Astor Piazzola as well as a dynamic and rhythmic string quartet by Alberto Ginastera.

'Today, Tomorrow' Exhibition Opens at the Anderson Center Feb 3!

For the first time, the full exhibition Today, Tomorrow will be made available in person to audiences at the Anderson Center next month! Join us as Iraqi identifying artists reclaim historic narratives, redefine legacies, and imagine possibilities in the multimedia exhibition Today, Tomorrow. Like a two-way mirror, the artists reflect on personal and collective legacies while simultaneously providing a window into visions for the future.

Dolma & Hrechanyky: A Culinary Exploration of Iraq and Ukraine

Join IARP and the Ukrainian American Community Center for an afternoon of hands-on learning and tastings on Feb 17. Explore the rich history and significance of cherished dishes from Iraq and Ukraine and celebrate the art of traditional cuisine. Tickets are $5 and include all tastings. Children under 10 are free. Artist Conversation and Opening Reception for Today, Tomorrow with asmaa al-issa

Join us at the Anderson Center at Tower View on Friday, February 2 for a conversation with artist asmaa al-issa, followed by a reception for the exhibition Today, Tomorrow. The conversation between al-issa and Shaymaa Khalil of IARP, begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Tower View Barn. This will be immediately followed by a reception running from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. The event is free and open to all and will feature light refreshments from both Iraqi and American cultures.

Junie B. Jones, The Musical

It’s Junie B.’s first day of first grade, and a lot of things have changed for her: Junie’s friend, Lucille, doesn’t want to be her best pal anymore and, on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher, Mr. Scary, thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting.

FMCT Mainstage Play: "Wait Until Dark"

Frederick Knott’s thriller ‘Wait Until Dark’ is the story of Susy Hendrix, a recently blinded housewife who unwittingly possesses a doll filled with illicit drugs. Harry Roat, a brutal and sophisticated criminal, coerces two small-time thugs into helping him con Susy into giving up the doll. A deadly game of cat and mouse ensues as Susy and the young girl upstairs launch a counterplot against the thieves. The drama plays on the themes of darkness and light as Susy navigates through her sightless world, and the crooks signal each other with light through the Venetian blinds.

FMCT Mainstage Musical: "Rent"

Set in the East Village of New York City, Rent is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today.

Rent follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York’s Lower East Side. The group’s dreams, losses, and love stories weave through the musical’s narration to paint a stunningly raw and emotional portrait of the gritty bohemian world of New York City in the late 1980s, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.
