Defeat of Jesse James Days Outlaw Run 5K and 15K

A mounted rider from the Jesse James Gang starts this fun race for active runners and non runners alike. Your timing placard assures the ability to submit your time or best a previous year. Both courses feature water stations and encouragement and a finishing medal is part of the memory of this historic event. T shirts and timing placard provided. Profits from the race benefit History education to youth in the surrounding communities.

Tia Parks – Invasive Terrestrial Plants on the Gunflint Trail: Identification, Management, and Planting Responsibly.

Tia Parks is the Cook County Agricultural Inspector and the coordinator for the Cook County Invasives Team. As the Ag Inspector, she serves as Cook County’s lead enforcer for the State Noxious Weed Law and coordinates invasive species management and native planting projects across the county. She also conducts invasive species outreach by visiting with school students, arranging public outreach events, creating educational materials, and supplying county residents with plans and tools to control invasive species.

Lee Frelich - 400 years of fire and wind in the BWCAW

Lee E. Frelich is the Director of the University of Minnesota Center for Forest Ecology. He received a Ph.D. in Forest Ecology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1986. Frelich has authored 234 publications with 360 coauthors from 26 countries, including major works for Cambridge University Press and Oxford University Press. He is listed among the top 1% of all scientists in the world in the Ecology and Environment category by the Web of Science.

Elizabeth “Liz” Gillies was most recently the lead in the CW series, Dynasty which ran for five seasons. The series has gained massive popularity through streaming and is currently the fifth most viewed show on Netflix worldwide. Elizabeth launched her career on the successful Nickelodeon series, Victorious. She then captured audiences on the popular FX series Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, where she starred as the scene stealing ‘Gigi’ opposite Denis Leary. Her other television roles include The Black Donnellys, White Collar, Friend Me, as well as voiceover work on Disney’s Winx Club.

He is the author of "Her Place in the Woods: The Life of Helen Hoover.” The biography of one of Minnesota’s most beloved nature writers, from her career in the city to her rustic cabin on Gunflint Lake
