WTIP's 18th Annual Radio Waves Music Festival

The Radio Waves Music Festival is a celebration of local music and community on the North Shore of Lake Superior. This annual festival, organized by WTIP North Shore Community Radio brings together:
Bringing together two of the most iconic 70’s and 80’s bands for a night of nostalgic entertainment and pure fun! Featuring a band of talented musicians, this group comes together to bring you hits from The Steve Miller Band like “Jet Airliner,” “The Joker,” “Take the Money and Run” plus hits from The Cars such as “Shake It Up,” Just What I Needed and “Drive.” An evening filled with fantastic music that pays tribute to two bands that help set the tone for two of the most iconic decades in American history, this is a must-attend concert experience.

A spooktacular adventure filled with mystery, laughs, and just the right amount of chills. When Brooke and her best friend Zeke land the leads in their middle school’s new musical, they’re thrilled - until strange things start happening around the theater.
Join us on the front lawn of the Minnesota History Center for an evening with Open Eye Theater! The Adventures of Juan Bobo/Las Adventuras de Juan Bobo is a family-friendly puppet performance that will delight audiences of all ages.
The world is upside down, and Juan Bobo is going to do something to turn it right side up! Inspired by Puerto Rican folk stories, this show combines puppetry, music, Spanish, and English in a delightful tale of riddles, silly devils, a missing pig, and a village in need of a hero.
Step into a magical world where fairy tales come to life! Come to Town Green (7991 Main Street) on Thursday, June 12 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. where beloved winter princesses will lead an interactive storytelling experience filled with familiar music inspired by a land of snow and adventure. Little ones can sing along to classic songs, listen to captivating tales, and even meet their favorite princesses. This a completely free event.
Mark your calendars for June 21st and celebrate PRIDE MONTH with POWER Drag Revue. Get ready to brunch and be dazzled at Boom Island Brewing Co‘s “brew-unch” Drag Brunch event! Sip on your favorite Boom Island brews and seltzers, savor delicious bites from the food truck, and prepare to be wowed by a fabulous Pride-themed drag show!
Join local nature conservationist Davis Harder on a plant identification walk at Jeffers Petroglyphs. Harder works in the conservation field and is passionate about the ecology of southwestern Minnesota. Growing up in a part of the state where 90% of the landscape is dominated by row crop agriculture, he recognizes the importance of better understanding the remaining intact natural areas such as those found on Red Rock Ridge. This event is included in regular site admission.
Plein Air Grand Marais is an annual tradition since 2008 bringing outdoor painters to the North Shore of Lake Superior for a week of painting, learning, competition, and camaraderie. Since 2018, the event has been organized by Outdoor Painters of Minnesota and hosted by the Cook County Historical Society's Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery.

Plant lovers! Join The Lofton Hotel and The Plant Penthouse for a fun and interactive evening with a happy hour plant exchange. At "Planty Hour", you will enjoy a signature tropical cocktail (or mocktail!) from The Lofton Hotel, learn the art of propagation in a hands-on demo led by Shayla Owodunni of The Plant Penthouse, and participate in a plant cutting swap with fellow attendees. Bring your own plant cutting from home to exchange for something new!
